Helga van der Steen heads YOUSEEQ, a company that supports organizations with all kinds of recruitment services. She is also the brains behind Olli, a new technology that enables organizations to put Total Talent Management (TTM) into practice(see box).

Talent management solutions
It sounds so appealing: Total Talent Management (TTM). But the organizations that actually manage to achieve this are few and far between. Too often, these are still separate worlds; recruitment and management of permanent staff is handled by HR, while the hiring of temporary staff is usually still the responsibility of Procurement. Information about vacancies and candidates is also very scattered, ranging from Excel sheets on SharePoint to HRIS/ATS/VMS systems.
"You have a wealth of data, but centralization is non-existent or virtually non-existent. And that at a time when talent management is more important than ever," says Van der Steen. "I see the worlds of permanent and flexible employment as one world. A world of talent. So when we couldn't find a tool that looked at staffing in that way, we started developing our own TTM tool."
