AI as an accelerator of Total Talent Management

During Total Talent Day in the Werf& and ZiPconomy webinar week, Helga van der Steen, founder and Chief Development Officer of Olli, spoke with Narada Bouwland about how organizations can use AI to accelerate Total Talent Management (TTM).

Helga recounted how her career began at ASML, where she learned to think in terms of processes and customer needs. She later applied this mindset to the world of contract management and talent services. That experience led to the creation of Youseeq and later Olli: a single integrated platform that allows organizations to manage all their talent streams (permanent, flexible, and self-employed) in one environment.

What started as an internal tool for process support grew into a fully-fledged TTM system that combines insight, compliance, and ownership. AI plays a supporting role in this: it helps to automatically draw up compliant job descriptions (Wet DBA), match skills, and identify compliance risks in real time.

Helga emphasized in the webinar that technology should never replace human judgment:

“AI can assist with repetitive work, but humans determine context and culture.”

Using customer cases, she demonstrated that organizations that integrate Total Talent can respond more quickly, are less dependent on separate tools, and gain more control over data. For example, a large organization was able to drastically reduce its administrative burden within four months, while HR was able to refocus on strategic tasks.

Helga's final message:

“Those who don't switch to Total Talent Management today will lose control of talent and relevance.”
